About us
Mössner develops and builds special solutions in the fields of mechanical engineering, automation technology and robotics. With our 140 employees we can handle even larger projects - without losing the necessary flexibility for your special solutions. At our location in Eschach we develop, manufacture and assemble your system and commission it for you worldwide.
Whether system components or turnkey casting and finishing lines - our special machines stand for reliable and automated system technology. This includes core handling, automation of casting machines, cooling and industrial marking, decoring, sawing, milling and deburring, as well as all necessary sub-processes of your casting production.
In the field of aluminium technology, we offer precise sawing and milling systems for primary and secondary aluminium production. These enable the processing of rolling ingots, T-bars, blanks, contours, round blanks, samples, ingots and plates.
For more than 130 years our band saws have been known for their durability, robustness and precise cutting performance on a wide range of materials. The saws are manufactured and assembled exclusively at our location in Eschach. Spare parts supply is guaranteed even decades after the purchase.
In addition to handling tasks, our machines take over the processing steps of drilling, milling and sawing. As a complete supplier, we supply systems for all areas of quality control, conveyor technology and nuclear decommissioning.
Our engineering department supports you in all questions of planning, optimisation, simulation and programming of robot applications. We offer automation in the field of robotics and control engineering as well as image processing for automated inspection stations and the digitisation of workpieces by 3D scanning.

Aluminium bandsaw technology for the sawing of slabs, T-bars and billet
With a Mössner sawing system, a wide variety of ingots can be sawn quickly, precisely, with a small cutting gap and thus low chip accumulation and low energy consumption, into any programmable sections. Our systems work fully automatically, numerically controlled, laser-monitored and with chip disposal by means of suction and chip press. Absolutely record-breaking: our largest sawn ingot to date had a weight of 40 tonnes and a length of 11m.

Block saws
The block saw from Mössner is a vertical band saw that cuts aluminium blocks efficiently and precisely. Its high-quality steel construction, high drive power, e.g. 37kW and 45kW, and fast cutting speeds ensure maximum performance. Thanks to an intuitive control system, programmes can be easily adapted or loaded directly from higher-level control systems. Saw blade rotation enables cuts in different directions, while numerous expansion options provide optimum support for automation.
Our saws can be extended with
•Extraction system
•Automated unloading
•Panel thickness measurement
•Roughness measurement of the panel
•Chip press
•Noise protection cabin
Camera system
Contour saws for near-net-shape cutting
With the help of contour saws from Mössner, we bring your blanks as close as possible to the final contour. The so-called ‘cut to size’ or ‘near to shape’ makes it possible to significantly reduce the amount of subsequent machining required thanks to our advanced sawing technology. This means that more recyclable material is retained, which conserves resources and reduces the costs of your cut-to-size parts in the long term.
The Mössner band saw machines for contoured cuts can be controlled numerically (X axis) and can be rotated numerically about the saw cut line (C axis). Through the numerically controlled delivery of the workpiece (Y axis), any contours can be sawed in plates and blocks. The coordinate transformation for the current calculation of the three axis values (X, Y, C) is carried out directly in the control system and allows simple contour programming with XY coordinates. Additional features are, for example, a fully automatic part supply system, a waste and chips disposal system, a compacting system, a part transport system and a protective cabin.
Typical process:
•The aluminium plate is laid on the clamping table, aligned and clamped.
•The workpiece is transported to the sawing position and is clamped using hold-downs.
•The programmable contour is traced out tangentially by the control system through X and Y coordinates with the servo axis of the band saw control.
•The contoured workpieces and the waste are transported out of the system on a conveyor belt.
Technical data of the system:
•Total space requirement: 25 m × 17 m
•Total weight: approx. 50 000 kg
•Total connected load: approx. 80 kW
•Workpiece dimensions: 8000 × 3000 × 300 mm
•Maximum workpiece height: 300 mm
•Maximum workpiece weight: 3000 kg
•Blade wheel diameter: 1550 mm
•Circular table diameter: 630 mm
•Travelling distance X: 8000 mm
•Travelling distance Y: 4000 mm
•Feed speed: 6000 mm/min.
•Cutting speed: 100 - 2000 m/min.
•CNC control
High-performance band saws for billet production
Extrusion billets are the starting material in the forming process of extrusion. Here, the billet is pressed through a die and formed into an extrusion profile. Extruded profiles are used in a wide variety of areas. In shipbuilding, aviation, windows and doors, automotive, the food industry and many other areas.
With our band saw technology, your billet production becomes efficient and effective. Our band saws not only make your cuts quickly and precisely, but they also reduce the amount of chips produced. This increases the proportion of recyclable material. Compared to circular saws, the lower cutting performance also reduces energy consumption. With the help of our billet saws, you can carry out head and foot cuts as well as cutting to desired sub-segments and lengths with process reliability. The saws are suitable for a wide range of diameters and lengths.
Benefit from the advantages of our sawing technology:
Fast
Precise
Increase of recyclable material
Energy-saving
Conserving resources
Lower maintenance costs
Band saws for automated sampling
Various material tests are required in the production of aluminium. After cutting, the material is tested using samples. Our saws handle the automated cutting of these samples precisely and efficiently.
The laboratory saw machine from Mössner allows you to automatically take samples from the respective aluminium batches. The workpieces are transported into the system on a conveyor belt and clamped using hold-downs. The required saw pattern is stipulated by the program. Cuts are carried out in the X and Y directions (rotation of the band saw guide), the sequence of the waste and sample parts is stipulated in the program. The samples are sorted and transported away on a conveyor belt. The residual material (scrap) is transported into the appropriate containers via a scrap slider.
Typical sawing process:
•Cuts are carried out in the X direction
•The band saw guide is rotated through 90°
•Cuts are carried out in the Y direction
•The band saw guide is rotated through 90°
