About us
L+R (Laubinger + Rickmann) is an owner-managed company with around 150 employees on 3 continents.
The special machine manufacturer was founded in 1972 and has existed in its current legal form since 1977.
In 1998 we developed the first self-learning 3D straightening system for automotive applications. Our systems help to detect, understand and resolve dimensional deviations (twist or bend). Based on the part specific distortion the ideal straightening stroke is calculated. Therefor a self-learning algorithm is optimizing constantly, focusing on the separation of plastic and elastic deformation and the part specific behavior. Separate inline measurement system be installed to pre-select distorted parts.
In addition to technological leadership in the areas of testing mechanics for non-destructive testing, straightening and forming systems, industrial automation and the linking of individual system components, partnership and productivity are at the heart of everything we do.
The American subsidiary LR Q-Systems Inc, located now in Chattanooga, TN was intially founded in Delaware and Atlanta, GA in 2020.

Products & Services
The international focus of the special purpose machine development is on fully automated adaptive 3D straightening systems for casted or extruded aluminum parts in the automotive industry.
More than 130 straightening machines are currently in operation worldwide for the following part types:
Structural components (Suspension strut mounts / shock towers, longitudinal members, Side members, Cross members)
Battery Housings (Battery trays, Battery frames, Sideplates)
Chassis components
Different straightening techniques are combined depending on the part specification and/or part distortion:Global straightening
Local straightening
Datum point straightening
In each case, each system is designed individually and optimally for the part in question and will automatically adjust to varying distotions and material parameters over lifetime.
